About

Guests will enter the villa through a magnificent reception hall, located on the ground floor of the central building. Furnished with rattan planter chairs and sofas and complemented by parlour palms, this regal room opens straight onto the swimming pool. The splendid floor is composed of black and white granite tiles laid to form a traditional diagonal chequerboard pattern.

Pool and Garden
Villa Batavia is set within a beautiful walled garden complete with an 18-metre freeform swimming pool that is reminiscent of a river pool. There is also a separate childrens pool complete with a bridge across to an island. This lovely area is planted with fruit trees, fragrant frangipanis and ferns, complemented by two waterfalls and a large rock wall with a water cascade. Every need has been considered and a guest washroom is available for pool users, accessible from the garden. A secure parking area provides space for motorbikes and two cars.

On the ground floor of the Master Wing is an ornate Moroccan-style steam room with colourful mosaic tiles, a domed roof, built-in bench seating, and an enticing, two-tiered, coldwater fountain in the centre. The sleeping pavilion houses 2 air-conditioned double bedrooms complete with en-suite bathrooms, and a pool terrace. Each bedroom has a soaring thatched roof and is furnished with a canopied 4-poster king-size bed, a comfortable built-in window seat and is complete with a 29-inch plasma TV. Each is tastefully decorated with bold colours, rich fabrics and bright scatter cushions, local artwork and artifacts. Sliding glass doors lead into the private garden bathrooms, each one dominated by a splendid, oversized, marble bathtub as its central feature, and sheltered from the elements by the eaves of the roof. The plunge pool can be accessed by exterior bathrooms doors, thus avoiding the need to walk through the bedrooms.

Twin suites
Three further bedrooms and the games room are located at the far end of the garden, away from the main living areas. This 2- storey pavilion houses 3 bedrooms downstairs. Each of the air conditioned bedrooms can be made up with either king size beds or twin beds. Both configurations also feature 2 rollaway beds. The bedrooms are accessed by sliding glass doors from a colonnaded terrace, and each boasts a walk-in wardrobe, an en-suite garden bathroom with toilet, shower, washbowl, vanity unit, and a traditional mandi- an outdoor urn fed by a waterspout.

Staff
Villa Asta is supported by a carefully selected team of highly trained, friendly staff who will do their best to ensure that their guests experience a truly enjoyable stay in Bali. The team is headed by a villa manager who will oversee and coordinate the staff and property, and is available to assist guests during their stay. The team also includes an in-house chef, butlers, housekeepers, gardeners, and security guards. The chef is trained in the preparation of both local and international cuisine, and is responsible for all the market shopping, in accordance with the needs and the whims of the guests. The housekeepers fulfill all of the housekeeping duties while also taking care of the daily laundry. Baby-sitting and massage services and the facilities of a car and driver are also available on request at an extra charge.

Dining pavilion
The open-sided dining pavilion is furnished with a long table which seats up to 18, boasting padded chairs and an orange theme. Cooled by natural breezes it also features a teak wood floor, paddle fans and pendulous lanterns suspended from its pitched roof. Ideal for entertaining, this ample pavilion is linked to a quality music system with surround speakers in the roof.

Service kitchen
Adjacent to the dining pavilion is a fully equipped, open-air service kitchen, characterised by a slate floor, teak cupboards, and black marble work surfaces. Here, the chef will prepare delicious breakfasts, lunches, dinners, snacks and refreshments, in accordance with guest requirements. The marble bar, complete with bar stools, is a great place for enjoying a casual breakfast or socialising with friends

Living pavilion
The living pavilion is open on 4 sides and features a soaring alang alang thatched roof supported by coconut wood pillars above a cream Palimanan stone floor. Ceiling fans and gentle breezes keep this area cool; it is tastefully furnished with a cushioned rattan sofa, chairs, and a glass topped rattan table. This pavilion is also linked to the central music system with surround speakers in the roof.

Private den
Sliding opaque glass doors lead from the dining area into an air-conditioned den. This cosy snug is furnished with deeply cushioned lounges and a big lazy chair. It also doubles as an office, and is equipped with a built-in desk and fitted cupboards, a computer with Internet access, a printer, a 32-inch plasma TV with over 25 satellite channels, DVD and a high quality sound system linked to speakers in the living and dining areas. The walls are graced with colourful local artwork and artifacts.

Pool & bale
The immaculate garden is dominated by a dramatic freeform swimming pool. Shallow layers within the pool step down into the deepest 5-metre section, immediately beneath a 3-metre-high, 2-storey bale relaxation pavilion. Shaded by a thatched roof, this elevated, double-decker pavilion offers spectacular rice field views from the top. A circular timber deck rests beside the pool, complete with sun loungers and umbrellas.

Special attention was paid to making sure Villa Aliya is child friendly while at the same time allowing parents a maximum of privacy. The comfortable entertainment room that easily converts into a fourth bedroom provides children with their own space to be in while parents can relax in the bar area next door. The pool area was designed to have no dead corners and non-slipping finishes such as roughened granite floors and wooden patios around the pool provide additional safety. Bedrooms and Bathrooms
Villa Aliya has 4 air-conditioned bedrooms. The villa was designed so that two couples can comfortably share it at the same time; the two master bedrooms are both on the ground level and are of a similar general setup with generous en-suite bathrooms. Each bedroom features Bose Ipod speakers, a 32-inch flat screen TV, ceiling fans and generous wooden wardrobes or walking wardrobes with safety deposit boxes and plenty of storage space

All bathrooms were designed in a tasteful beachy theme contrasting cream coloured granite with antique woods. Bathrooms all feature two sinks, and the en-suite bathrooms to the 3 main bedrooms have large eggshell bathtubs in addition to open air showers. Antique Jepara wooden carvings from Java were used to create striking mirror frames. The bathroom furniture was made from old recycled teak, thereby not only using beautifully aged hardwood but continuing the environmentally friendly theme of Villa Aliya.

Entertainment Room / Fourth Bedroom
The fourth bedroom is a large lounge space that serves as an entertainment room during the day, with lots of colourful Jim Thompson cushions and mattresses for casual lounging and afternoon naps. The latest 50-inch flat screen TV and a Bose sound system provide high quality entertainment. A card table is also available for more hands-on fun.

Trundle beds built into the lounge area allow the room to be converted into a bedroom within moments; thereby making it especially suited for children. This room was conceived to provide children with their own safe, fun space giving their parents a chance to relax on their holiday as well.

Living and Dining
A striking eye-catcher in the living room is the living back wall filled with ferns, stag horns and orchids. This is a clever re-interpretation of an old Dutch room design where air slits close to the ceiling facilitate air flow through the room. The living wall provides a colourful green backdrop for comfortable oversized white Sunbrella sofas decorated with Ralph Lauren cushions in blue and white, and a beautiful McGuire rattan set. Old Balinese wooden house columns were converted into decorative standing lamps. The living room opens up to the pool and has a view of the dining pavilion on the other side.

Villa Aliya has two dining areas. The first is a breakfast area made of large wooden benches and a solid table set between the kitchen and the living room. Colourful cushions and specially commissioned modern art completes this spaces fun and casual look.

With a complete staff including villa manager, villa chef and four butlers, the villa provides the quality of service one would expect from such a superb villa. The modern and fully equipped kitchen easily caters to all needs and our Chefs repertoire ranges from snacks to sumptuous 5 course dinners. Bedrooms

Entrance
The property is accessed via a private driveway leading into a secure car parking area, complete with a covered car port. The front door opens onto broad stepping stones that appear to float upon a fish pond flanked by flowering heliconia.
The entrance hall is furnished with an antique circular marble table and guarded by four Balinese goddess statues positioned in alcoves in the wall. The inner hallway is an atrium, fitted out as a library with a large shelf unit, a desk, and a huge wall mirror that cleverly doubles the sense of space. Living Pavilion

One of the great benefits of renting a villa is the option to relax and enjoy delicious food Asian and Western prepared where and when they like. Bendega Villa has a full-time chef trained who loves to delight villa guests with his beautifully presented dishes from roasted vegetable salads, to Balinese chicken curry, to nasi goreng (fried rice), to steak and chips. His deserts are not to be missed either or his home-made jams and chutneys. He is happy to try out new dishes and even to share his kitchen with guests especially if they can show him how to prepare their favourite dishes.

Daily breakfast is included in the villa rate and a range of menu suggestions are available at the villa for lunch and dinner. Alternatively, menus can be designed in consultation with the chef and villa manager. In this case, food and other supplies will be purchased by the chef and charged to guests at cost plus a provisioning fee with receipts will be provided either daily or at the end of your stay. Please remember to discuss meals in advance (ideally 24 hours) to allow the chef the time he needs to purchase and prepare for you.

Swimming Pools
The villa sits on 3.270 square metres of Canggu beachfront land planted in lush tropical vegetation and gently swaying palms.

French executive chef Manuel Wendling and his team of sous chefs provide an eclectic menu selection melding classic French cooking, nouvelle cuisine, as well as Indonesian/Asian fusion food.

A selection of Manuels offerings include Fresh Tiger Prawns with Green Papaya Salad, Butter Fish with Chorizzo Crumble, Riviera Salad Alain Ducasse, Nasi Goreng, Sumac Mahi Mahi with sun dried tomatos, Babi Guling (traditional Balinese stuffed pork).

Bali is well-known for its culture, an important part of which are dance performances.

Many of these can be held on the beach in front of your villa. The Kecak dance, which can involve up to 300 dancers, can be arranged for you with a few days notice. Simply ask your butler to tell you about Balinese dances which are suitable for your own performance on the beachfront.

This beachfront home shares an all-weather tennis court with night-lighting, so pack your racquets if tennis is your game.

If youre into keeping fit, we can introduce you to a personal trainer; if youd like to learn to surf, an instructor can visit and teach you in the ocean in front of the villa. Swimming Pools
The villa sits on 2.500 square metres of Canggu beachfront land planted in lush tropical vegetation and gently swaying palms.
There are 20 metres of beachfront, so you literally step off your front lawn on to the sand.
The two pools are extensive in scope too. The main infinity pool measures 20 x 5 metres for a total of 100 square metres.
There is a 12 square metres childrens paddling pool, with a maximum depth of 40 centimetres. Near the beachfront is a heated Jacuzzi designed for the enjoyment of up to six adults.

Phone/Fax
Every bedroom has an IDD capable telephone. Calls between rooms dont cost anything. Local or international calls are charged at cost.
There is a fax machine in the office which you are welcome to use.
