Full Description: Suluban Cliff Villa rests serenely upon 1500 square metres of cliff top land,
overlooking the Indian Ocean and the white sandy beaches of The Bukit – Bali’s
southern peninsula. This single-storey property commands spectacular views
spanning the southernmost tip of the island all the way up the west coast. On a
clear day, this awesome vista takes in Bali’s chain of volcanoes from the mighty
Mt Agung in the east to Mt Batukaru and the western highlands towards the
distant mountains of Java.
This chic, contemporary-styled villa can accommodate up to 12 guests. It
comprises four bedroom suites, an open-plan living and dining pavilion with
kitchen, a spa pavilion, a glass-fronted infinity pool, and a cliff edge bale &
bar. The interior design presents a bold use of colour, with tactile materials
and features to create a sensual ambience.
Living Room
The main building is positioned on elevated ground at the rear of the property,
and incorporates a large open-plan living and dining area complete with a
state-of-the-art kitchen. Air-conditioned with the additional option of ceiling
fans for a tropical living experience, this room features white walls and a
white polished tiled floor. A glass wall with sliding glass doors at the front
opens to a Palimanan stone terrace and a million dollar, 180-degree view of the
ocean, the coastline and the mountains. The terrace is furnished with a table
and chairs for alfresco dining. The living area is themed in black, white and
purple, and furnished with a long velvet upholstered sofa, two ottomans and a
coffee table. Mounted on the end wall is a 52” LCD satellite channel TV with
DVD/VCD player and a quad hi-fi system offering CD and iPod playability. A door
leads to a guest washroom.
Dining Room
The dining area is furnished with a laminated table for 12 and separated from
the kitchen by a service bar with a purple façade. The professional kitchen is
huge, showcasing a sleek style that revolves around a central island, black
granite and white marble worktops, and black units. It is fully equipped with
two fridges, a wine cooler, electric and gas hobs, oven, microwave and top-notch
appliances including a designer toaster and cappuccino machine.
Master Suite
The spacious Master Suite is accented in silver and purple, with silver silk
headboards, purple drapes, bedside tables and funky ‘Chenergy’ lamps with
acrylic shades textured into peaks. The air-conditioned ensuite bathroom
features twin lacquered black vanities topped with polished black granite,
chrome washbasins and Italian black satin designer taps. There is also a walk-in
rain shower complete with a handheld shower, and an oversized bathtub positioned
within a private walled courtyard, open to the sky, with a peephole view of the
ocean. The remaining three suites are similar and themed by colours. Each has an
ensuite bathroom with walk in rain shower.
Guest Suites
There are four stand-alone air-conditioned bedrooms suites at the villa,
cascading down to the cliff-edge on either side of the tiered reflecting pool
and the swimming pool. Each is furnished with a king-size bed complete with a
spare single-size trundle bed that rolls under the main frame, and is ideal for
a child. Each bedroom has a dressing area and an ensuite bathroom, and each is
equipped with a 42” LCD TV and DVD player, an iPod with a pre-selection of music
and Bose docking station speakers, high-speed wireless Internet access, PABX
telephone system, and a digital safe. Additionally, the Master Suite has a mini
fridge.
The Spa
The Spa Pavilion is equipped with two massage beds, manicure/pedicure chairs,
and an ensuite bathroom with a shower. Here, guests can enjoy soothing yet
regenerating massages and treatments administered by skilled therapists. This
boudoir-styled room is characterised by fuschia pink walls and string curtains,
animal print fabrics and large wall mirrors. It doubles as an extra bedroom.
Garden & Swimming Pool
The garden rolls down to the edge of the cliff and is accessed by a series of
steps beside the two-tiered reflection pool, which flows down into the 25 x 7
metre infinity swimming pool complete with a glass wall at the far end. At this
level is a flat and velvety lawn, ideal for cocktail parties. On the other side
of the garden sits a pool bar and a large elevated ‘bale’ relaxation pavilion
offering amazing views of the ocean and Suluban beach. This is a delightful spot
to chill out with a late afternoon cocktail and enjoy a spectacular sunset. The
pavilion is equipped with a fan, power points, speakers for the sound system,
and cushioned seating for up to 15 guests.
Location Suluban Cliff Villa is located on the most south-westerly tip of Bali’s Bukit
Peninsula – a limestone plateau rising sharply from the sea, fringed by steep
cliffs and some of the most idyllic beaches on the island. The area is
characterized by wide open spaces and skies, the azure waters are the playground
of dolphins and migrating whales, and the landscape is dotted with wild flowers,
cactus, kapok trees and spectacular scarlet flamboyant. The Bukit also boasts
some of Bali’s most glamorous villas, private estates and
internationally-branded boutique hotels.
A tropical, equatorial climate means year-round balmy temperatures, this area is
much drier than the rest of the island and – even in the rainy season – is a
reliable sun-trap. When the southeast trade winds blow offshore and the southern
ocean swells hit the reefs, the barreling surf breaks are among the best in the
world. The only other activity along the coastline is seaweed farming, still
traditionally practiced by the original Balinese coastal families.
Suluban Cliff Villa is approximately a 30 minutes drive (depending on the
traffic) from Bali’s International Airport and 45 minutes from the endless
shopping, vibrant nightlife and international restaurants of Kuta and Seminyak.
The world-class Bali Golf and Country Club in Nusa Dua is a 25 minutes drive,
while the 17-hole, championship, New Kuta Golf Course at Pecatu is a mere 10
minutes drive. This covers 85 hectares above Dreamland Beach, and was designed
by Ronald Fream. Its signature hole, no. 15, commands splendid views. Ubud –
Bali’s centre for fine arts and cultural performances – is about 90 minutes
drive to the north. The remainder of the island offers a rich mosaic of
cultures, tastes, sights and sounds, together with a wide array of activities,
including tennis, horseback riding, dive schools, sailing cruises and much more.
Staff
Villa Suluban Cliff is fully serviced by:
One full-time Villa manager
Oversees and coordinates the staff and property and is available to assist
guests during their stay. One cook
Trained in the preparation of both local and international cuisine. A menu is
provided, and the cook will do all the market shopping. Five maids
Responsible for housekeeping duties, taking care of your daily laundry and
providing waiter service around the grounds and buildings of the property. Two security guards
Their duties are to patrol the grounds and guard the entrance of the villa from
dusk to dawn ensuring your security. One gardener
